I miss Napster (this is probably better suited for Livejournal.com)

Ok it just dawned on me while watching this skate video trailer that uses a Raveonettes song, but I am too poor to have as diverse a musical taste as I do. Correction, the problem isn’t that I like a lot of different music. The problem is that my appetite for music is insatiable. I am really never completely satisfied. I always think I will be, but like three days later I want something else (this only really happens with music items). Does this mean I am an addict? I heard that only happens after graduation though.

Anyway, I want it all. I want the new Kills album, the new Raveonettes Album, Kate Nash (still need lilly allen), the Teenagers, Cool Kids, some more Hank Williams, a lot more rockabilly, and since the end of high school I have been in much need of massive hip-hop 80’s/90s hip-hop repurchase (i.e. big daddy kane, NWA, Pharcyde). And this is just my “off the top of my head typing really fast cause I am at work” list. I have a list at home that has something like 20 bands–ad dont even get me started on remixes.  Damn it. I really miss napster. I miss the days where you could try on an album. Open your mind up to something crazy new without worrying about the kind of regret that you get when you clean out your middle school collection of cds (i.e. Korn, puff daddy releases, and Master P). ARGGG. I am just venting now.  I just don’t have the money to finance my taste and it is making me want to thrash around like a three year old.

I am so ready to sell out…better yet buy INTO the system. Bring on Business school.

bittorrent? i use deluge as a client…works great for me. i know exactly what you mean by the lack of satisfaction and constant need for something new. in fact, kate nash and hank williams are two of my more recent acquisitions.
