Wisdom According to Cher

While Clueless came out in the 90s this little quote here by Ms. Cher is completely relevant today in this land of Hipsters. Ahem, check it:

So, okay I don’t want to be a trader to my generation and all but I don’t get how guys dress today. I mean, c’mon it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair, ooh, and cover it with a backwards cap and like we’re expected to swoon? I don’t think so

I guess the only things that need revision is the baggy pants and the backwards cap part. In our present fashion climate it would read something like, “fell out of bed and put on some skinny jeans…and cover it with a new era cap/american apparel hood…though snap backs are making a comeback.

It is comforting to know that as much as things change they stay the same.

Other things that have dawned on me

1.) Interviews are like first dates…or maybe the other way around.

2.) I am starting to like dance music better than rock n’ roll…which is frightening because this means I probably would have been really into disco in the 70s, which totally Flucks with my sense of identity.

3.) I am growing more apathetic about politics each and every day, which makes me wonder why i majored in Af/Am and Women’s studies. Hell I don’t even really care about recycling anymore. Maybe I am ready for business school.
