Last Night was cinco de Mayo, which is “the holiday that commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.” Anyway as expected the campus threw down. i was in mexico on cinco de mayo and no one celebrated it. we might just have to file the “holiday” under “yet another reason for white college students to dress up and get drunk.”
